Avangard Capital

Governance & Operations

Built for evolving markets

A systematic process is only as trustworthy as the structure around it. This page sets out who does what, and the checks in place to keep the Fund operating the way it is described.

Independent oversight

An Advisory Board provides independent oversight across the areas most relevant to a systematic Australian equity strategy: investment strategy and risk (chaired by Kim Ivey, former founder of Vertex Capital Management and former President of AIMA Australia), institutional capital markets practice (Dave Forsyth, more than 25 years in international prime services), and distribution and investor relations standards (Andrew Kuruc, more than four decades in financial services distribution). Full biographies are available on the Our People page.

Alignment

Avangard's founders co-invest alongside investors in the Fund. The Fund's performance fee is charged only on genuine outperformance, not simply on positive returns. If the Fund does not outperform, no performance fee is payable. Avangard is also capacity-conscious: the business prioritises the integrity of the investment process and the consistency of outcomes over indiscriminate growth in funds under management.

Long-term continuity

Avangard is built to grow and evolve with the business, not to depend on a single moment in its history. The founders remain closely and personally involved in the day to day running of the firm, and the investment process, data infrastructure and decision rules are designed to scale as the business grows rather than stay fixed in place.

Regulatory status

The Fund is offered only to wholesale clients as defined under section 761G of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). Full licensing details can be verified on ASIC's Financial Adviser and AFS Licensee registers under AFSL 557810.
